If you have stayed with us and grabbed breakfast, there is a good chance Janine Beach is the reason your morning started on a right note. Our breakfast attendant for the past 10 months, Janine is the kind of person who walks in smiling and never stops. A 45 year Altoona local, when she is not brightening our guests' mornings you can find her playing with her animals, getting her hands in the dirt planting flowers, or cheering on her husband as he competes with his local bus company.

Twelfth Avenue looking east from Thirteenth Street, back when Altoona looked like this. This stretch of the city has always had something worth stopping for. Today it is home to some of our favorites including the Altoona Heritage Discovery Center and the Historic Mishler Theatre. The street looks a little different now but the character is still very much there. What is your favorite spot on 12th Street? Tell us in the comments.
