Halcyon Spa located in the heart of Missouri's Wine Country offers a relaxed spa atmosphere. We focus on therapeutic massage and bodywork, organic skin care, aromatherapy, and excellent customer service. We offer 4 regular yoga classes a week and seasonally at the wineries. We have a guest room B&B with king size bed, spa shower, kitchenette tucked in the lowest level of the spa for privacy. Our small hair salon is open 2 days a week, additional hours by appointment.

The Greeks started it with a bird.

Alkyone, the story goes, was turned into a kingfisher, and she nested on the open sea. For two weeks around the winter solstice the gods flattened the waves so her eggs could ride out the calm. Sailors called that windless stretch the halcyon days. The kingfisher days.

The phrase drifted ashore over the centuries and settled on any spell of weather like the one outside right now. Still air, low gold light, the garden holding its breath before fall.

So it isn't only a word for the good old days. The halcyon days were never behind you. They're this week. 🐦
