Howdy folks! With July 4 just around the corner, we know many of you are poised with your finger on the button to reserve tours of Lehman Caves for the holiday weekend.

But whoa there, hold up – we’re pushing pause on those reservations until June 19.

Contractors are progressing toward completion of the Lehman Caves lighting system – a once-in-50-years project that will improve the visitor experience and protect the cave environment for generations to come. In fact, they’re ahead of schedule. But we’re at a pivotal point in construction, and the next two weeks will give us insight into what tours we can offer to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday.

So mark your calendars for the morning of Friday, June 19 – we’ll load the tour schedule for July 3-5 and reservations will become available on Recreation.gov.

Thereafter, we’ll load schedules 14 days in advance until the cave lighting project is complete and we can fully reopen Lehman Caves to the public.

Thanks for your patience, and we look forward to cutting the ribbon on another half-century of underground adventure in Lehman Caves.
