Friends of Eagles Landing, one of the amenities available to guests is the Eagles Nest Winery. We don’t that we have talked about it before, but we need to. This is a review a local just wrote, and he is spot on. If great wine, food and scenery is your thing, this is a must do on your next stay. 100% worth the cost.
Thank you for your interest in Eagles Landing!

🍷 SHOUT OUT TO EAGLES NEST WINERY 🍷One of the High Country’s Best-Kept Secrets!
Every now and then you stumble upon a place that completely exceeds every expectation. Eagles Nest Winery did exactly that.
First, let me clear up one of the biggest misconceptions…
This is NOT a private winery
It’s NOT located inside the gated Eagles Nest community.
and YES ,IT’S OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
While members enjoy exclusive lounges and special perks, everyone is welcome to experience this incredible destination by purchasing a day pass.
Getting there is part of the adventure. It’s tucked away off the beaten path, but once you arrive you’ll quickly realize you’ve discovered one of the High Country’s true hidden gems.
The grounds are simply breathtaking. Beautifully manicured gardens, colorful flowers, multiple terraced seating areas, towering natural boulder walls, cozy private alcoves, fire pits, and countless intimate spaces make it easy to find your own quiet corner. It feels less like a winery and more like stepping into a fairytale.
Inside, you’ll find a gorgeous wraparound granite-topped bar, comfortable lounge seating, table seating for dining, and panoramic mountain views in every direction. The atmosphere is elegant without feeling pretentious—warm, inviting, and incredibly relaxing.
One of the highlights of our visit was spending time with Dean and Valerie Williamson , the owners. They couldn’t have been more genuine, welcoming, and passionate about what they’ve created.
Their staff deserves just as much recognition. Every person we encountered was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to make our visit special. It truly felt like a five-star experience from the moment we arrived.
We sampled three of their premium wines, and I can honestly say they were among the finest I’ve tasted outside of Napa Valley. These are premium wines many award winning.
And then…the food.
Their full kitchen serves an impressive menu, including artisan pizzas. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan Pizza and the Meat Lovers Pizza.
WOW!
Both were absolutely outstanding. I’d make the trip just for the pizza—it was that good.
Another huge advantage is their evening hours. As the sun begins to set, the property transforms. The gardens, stone walls, pathways, and outdoor seating areas become beautifully illuminated, creating one of the most magical settings you’ll find anywhere in the High Country.
For non-members, the $25 day pass includes a generous wine tasting and $10 off the purchase of a bottle of wine, making it an excellent value.
As I drove away, I kept asking myself…
“How does everyone not know about this place?”
So here’s my answer…
I’m spreading the word.
If you appreciate exceptional wine, incredible food, stunning mountain scenery, and an experience that feels like a mini vacation all in one afternoon or evening, put Eagles Nest Winery on your must-visit list.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wine lover’s dream right here in the High Country.
