I had a fantastic volunteer day this week at the Marathon campus of the Florida Keys SPCA. The kitties are feeling fine with hardly any drama. In fact not a single squabble the whole time I was there. I thought about Taco and Starlight a lot. Gypsy maybe picked up on my thoughts because she demanded I sit down, then she plunked herself on my lap for over a half hour! She was so content just sitting together in the sun. Tamlin wanted me to gently run the water for her a few times, of course I obeyed. Gary followed me almost everywhere but didn’t want to be picked up. Guppy was very purry with me, how has that wide eyed nugget been overlooked for so long? All the kitties had visitors while I was there too, I love when people come to socialize them and give them love. It’s so incredibly wonderful to be able to be back at the shelter regularly. I’ll update you on my post surgery progress soon. All the animals shown here are desperately waiting for a home of their own. 🐾

Important business took us up the Keys today…. Thankful we had time to stop on the way back at Seaside Eatery!!! I barely made a dent in my Cobb salad, that’s my dinner and late night snack too! He had a TLT and we each got food to go as well! I brought home a Bahn Mi and he brought home another TLT. Lyndsey’s food is the best and I can never say enough great things about it. Not the greatest photos but boy is this delicious!!! 💚🌱

Cookies and cream cake, planty style!!! 🌱💚 6” triple layer, ganache, bits of cookies & cream, tiny cookies and bitty cake balls all resting comfortably on a cookies and cream cake, and cookies and cream frosting. If cookies and cream are your thing, you’d be over the moon with this one. A+ for sure! Vegan, organic and fair trade sugars, chocolate and vanilla (I make my own vanilla but the beans are fairly traded 🤍)

Omg omg omg! Starlight and Taco have been adopted from the Florida Keys SPCA Marathon campus!!! I am elated! Taco is such a chill sweet orange boy…. As sweet as they come! Starlight… what can I say? I’m not supposed to play favorites but she really stole my heart. A squishy, purry, sweet, lovable soul who craves attention and contact. I’m so glad I spent time with her again when I stopped by Friday, she’s a lap cat through and through. Happy life sweethearts, may your every moment in your new homes be filled with love, security, play and more as you are nurtured and worshipped. Shelters work!!! From homeless to loving home, p**f just like that! 🧡🤍🖤🐾

I made necessary trips north over the late summer once I got cleared to travel. I drove far to get back to VegOut Bethlehem as often as I could, and it was worth every mile. Their food remains a bright spot for me when I travel north, the food is so good and the service exceptional. I’m treated practically like family there, Caitlyn treats customers as if she owns the business working with kindness and care. I ordered as many takeout meals and coffees in advance as I could manage, patronized the grab and go, brought a vegan bologna roll home on one of my trips (searched by the TSA 🤣🤣🤣🤣), and made some new friends on a day I was there eating alone. This place is tiny but mighty, I wish they had a southern annex in the Keys. I’m dreaming of a thin mint latte as I walk through their neighborhood smelling the flowers on a warm late summer day. If you’re nearby, or passing through, this is THE go to!!!! Thank you so much VegOut Bethlehem, I’ll see you next Spring!!! 💚🌱
