Update from River Inn - Friday, August 28th
Big Sur River Inn is currently closed and evacuated due to Timber Fire operations. We would like to thank our staff for their quick response and for buttoning up the property for the closure.

Our dedicated Inn Manager is linked into our reservation system and able to respond to guests about upcoming reservations. Please reply to your reservation confirmation via text or email for assistance.

These fires are dynamic and changing daily, but we are receiving constant updates and will do our best to keep all of our guests informed as well. We very much look forward to reopening once the shelter-in-place and evacuation orders are downgraded and Highway One is open again. We are so very grateful to all of the crews working hard to protect our beloved Big Sur community as they fight the Timber and Plaskett Fires.

The Timber Fire is still burning. Please watch for crews working and transporting equipment along Highway One. Air support is vital to fighting this fire - leave your drones at home.

Last night, we gathered for a hearty meal, lovely music, and a chance to express our deep gratitude for the work it takes to fight fires in the wilds of Big Sur.

Though the Timber Fire is far from over, we wanted to feed and thank folks for the extraordinary effort put forth to keep our community safe.

Thank you to our neighbors The Village for cooking and organizing all the food💙
