Starting November 13th, one of Maine’s most magical holiday experiences gets underway at Sandy Hill Farm in Eliot with Winter Wonders, a huge walk-through light show spread across 14 acres. The one-mile trail winds through the farm and woods, surrounded by millions of lights, glowing trees, colorful tunnels, and creative displays built right on the property. Many of the sculptures are handmade by the farm’s team using metalwork, recycled materials, and other materials worked into one-of-a-kind scenes. Along the way, you can see everything from illuminated wildlife and farm-themed displays to larger creations like aircraft, characters, and a massive glowing clipper ship. The trail is designed to feel different from one section to the next, with plenty of photo spots, music, and bright displays filling the woods. Winter Wonders continues well past Christmas, giving visitors a chance to see the farm in January and February when fresh snow can completely change the look of the trail. The outdoor Rainbow Slide opens January 2nd and runs during the later part of the season. Tickets are sold for specific dates and times, so planning ahead is recommended before making the trip to Eliot.

BEAUTIFUL- very low tide revealing the best of the beach at Hendrick’s Head Lighthouse on Southport 4 miles from the inns. You are doing yourself an injustice if you don’t explore at least some of the beauty of the area. ❤️
