Weekly trail conditions report: what we’ve gathered as a committee is some trails are pretty rough, some are ok, some maybe a bit better than others.

The trails in Pequot are useable but bumpy. Swampy areas can be treacherous. Dirt is showing in a few areas. Groomers have been out but there has been very heavy snowmobile traffic.

The Paul Bunyan has seen heavy use. It has a consistent but thin snow base. Aggressive carbides are likely to make ground contact.

Trail conditions do improve as one ventures farther north. The Aspen trail just north of us has been reported as being in good condition. The Paul Bunyan conditions improve considerably from Laporte MN and northward. Conditions improve even more, north of Bemidji.

Lakes do have quite a bit of snowdrifts on them which may be an enjoyable option for some. Be aware of ice heaves and changing ice conditions though.

So to sum this all up, some trails are average, some below average, some poor in some areas. With this we consider the overall snowmobile environment to be below average. Definitely useable but just be aware conditions vary depending on the location and trail
