75 years ago, with a splash of government intervention and the dream of one man, the Bull Shoals Dam and the City of Bull Shoals was formed. Nearly instantaneously, Bull Shoals, and its newly created lake and tailwaters of the White River, became an epicenter of tourism and outdoor recreation. Long before Gov. Sanders' Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Initiative took the necessary steps to turn Arkansas into the tourism and outdoor recreation powerhouse that the state has become; Bull Shoals has been providing water sports, fishing, hunting, camping, archery, boat rentals, boat ramp access, resort vacations, hiking and not only a family friendly but also an affordable location for people across the country to utilize while representing the great State of Arkansas. Through the years our tourism and outdoor recreation have been sustained by generational businesses that represent the fundamentals of the hardworking people of Arkansas. The City of Bull Shoals has been, and continues to be the foundation of lifelong memories for seven and a half decades and there is hardly a corner of the country where you can't find at least one person that says, "Our family loves Bull Shoals, we have been vacationing there for generations!" As we have moved into the future the community is doubling back down on our tourism marketing to keep in step with state initiatives and continue to grow our community by adding new facets to a developing marketing strategy to help solidify the City of Bull Shoals as a tourism and outdoor recreation epicenter!
