Plan a fall getaway to Napa Valley; there are two weekends worth putting on your calendar now. From late October into November, w**e country changes completely. Harvest gives way to fall, the vineyards turn shades of amber, gold, and rust, and the valley settles into a quieter rhythm. It is a beautiful time to drive through Napa Valley, spend an afternoon w**e tasting, linger over dinner in Calistoga, and come back to a cozy room at The Craftsman Inn.
December feels a long way off, but we mention it because this is an entirely different reason to visit. On Saturday, December 5, Calistoga's Lighted Tractor Parade takes over Lincoln Avenue. Tractors, trucks, and farm equipment are covered in thousands of holiday lights and parade through downtown in one of those wonderfully unusual small-town traditions you simply have to see at least once.
Bring the whole family and rent the inn. Lincoln Avenue is about a 10-minute walk from The Craftsman Inn. Walk downtown for the parade, enjoy dinner, and stroll back to the inn.
