Ummmm WOW! 🤩

🎣Marlin Caught Off Ventura County!🎣

This impressive marlin was caught off our coast yesterday aboard Graylight Charters and it’s one more sign that the ocean is looking a little different this year.

With El Niño bringing warmer-than-normal water to Southern California, we’re seeing an unusual mix of warm-water species showing up in our neighborhood. Swordfish, dorado, tuna, marlin, rays, and even rare whale sharks have all been spotted in Southern California waters.

The ocean is constantly moving and when the water warms, the fish follow.

Beautiful morning on the strand!

Silverstrand hosts a large colony of sea lions all along the beach… they tend to stay in their collective harems and can be seen playing in the waves.

Girls’ weekend done right. 🌊🥂☀️

One of our recent guest groups shared this little glimpse of their stay at Strand n Sea, and we love seeing our beach house become part of the memories.

Good food. A few spirits. Sunset evenings. Early morning walks along Silver Strand Beach. A day exploring Downtown Oxnard. And plenty of time to simply slow down, laugh, reconnect and enjoy being by the coast.
