Do you see them? 👀

Now’s a good time to look for flowering Cranefly Orchids (Tipularia discolor), although they aren’t as easy to spot as their name might imply. This native orchid occurs in woodlands across much of the eastern US. The flowers are pollinated by moths and bear some resemblance to a cranefly, hence the name. Cranefly Orchids are easier to spot in winter when each plant has a single green leaf on the forest floor.

Held from 4–7 PM through September 30 (excluding August 19), it's a great place to browse fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, plants, honey, and other locally grown products before returning to Montfair for a relaxing evening.
