Fished Crystal River at the crack of dawn this morning. Fished the bars on the outgoing tide on the Bar Hopper with CaptAshlie Payeras-Howell. We got in some skinny stuff and caught a bunch of under slot reds, lost a big one at the boat , caught a pretty red with a bunch of spots, and cast the last few shrimp to catch a monster black drum.

The last 2 weekends of snook season are open at the Crystal River Waterfront RV Retreat. 40 ft RV, king bed and bunk room. Internet, fire pit , screened room and floating dock that will accommodate a 28 ft boat. 4 person max. Very reasonable weekend rates. Contact (727) 744-5173 for more info.

🎣🌅 A PERFECT DAY ON THE NATURE COAST! 🌅🎣

We started our morning with a beautiful sunrise and a pair of eagles watching over us as we idled out to the river on the X3. The dolphins were everywhere, with a few even jumping in the boat wake to put on a show! 🐬

Then it was time to find some fish! With a south wind and just a little chop, we fished both sides of the Spoil Islands and found quality fish everywhere we went.

At one point, Kim and I had a double hookup! Her redfish was a perfect 27 inches, while mine measured 22 inches. 🎣🔥 That’s why you always bring TWO nets around here in September! 🐟🐟

We limited out on redfish in just one hour, with Lynn adding a beautiful, fat 20-inch redfish to the day’s catch. From there, we went searching for snook and flounder—and mission accomplished!

We found several 24-inch snook and even a feisty 15-inch flounder before heading back to the dock.

What a day on Florida’s Nature Coast! ❤️🌴🎣

There’s nothing like an early morning outgoing tide right here in Crystal River! 🎣 The redfish were hungry, the river was flat and empty, and it was the perfect morning to get out on the water.

Then, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better… 🐬🐬

I stopped the boat to check out two dolphins, and they decided to put on a show, jumping right up out of the water!

If you were headed out to catch those over slot reds today…well…I stayed out of your way😉🎣could only get this under slot red in the boat and got to fight a good sized shark that hit a pinfish.

Thank you to everyone that shared my post about the RV with dock on the river that was available for Labor Day weekend. It has been booked by a pretty darn good angler and his girlfriend. Can’t wait to see what they come back with!
