It’s cozy fireplace season and time for hot coffee! The Grind Coffee House is just a few blocks away from the Lake Effect Inn and has amazing coffee and lunch, open from 7am-2pm. You must plan a stop at this amazing little cafe!

🍁Curtis Fall Festival is this weekend!! Saturday 12 to 6pm at the Kim Bushey Park located behind Tally HO BBQ. Womens Club will be there with their favorite pie sales, NO BS band will be playing, Dancing Witches from The Soo will be performing, we have vendors and 4 food trucks coming! Corn hole tournament, tug of war games, pumpkin painting for the kids. B**r, W**e and water and pop sales! Come get your new B**r mug and tshirt! See you all there!

Did you know…Pictured Rocks kayaking with Paddling Michigan is less than an hour away from Curtis! You can avoid the crowds in Munising, take the “back way” through Shingleton and arrive at Uncle Ducky’s outpost to get right on the water at Miner’s beach! This is a great day trip and a great way to see Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!

It’s now the BEST time to visit the UP. Mosquitos are gone, black flies are gone, flowers are still blooming and the water is WARM! But, don’t come to the UP on a weekend in August without making a reservation first! I had many phone calls from desperate people looking for rooms this weekend and there was nothing available from Drummond Island to Munising! Plan ahead and sleep comfortably 😉

Fern painted a fish for the Erickson Center Art on the Lake silent auction fundraiser. I had to keep bidding to buy her fish back…but it looks great on the Inn!
