Did you know…Pictured Rocks kayaking with Paddling Michigan is less than an hour away from Curtis! You can avoid the crowds in Munising, take the “back way” through Shingleton and arrive at Uncle Ducky’s outpost to get right on the water at Miner’s beach! This is a great day trip and a great way to see Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!

It’s now the BEST time to visit the UP. Mosquitos are gone, black flies are gone, flowers are still blooming and the water is WARM! But, don’t come to the UP on a weekend in August without making a reservation first! I had many phone calls from desperate people looking for rooms this weekend and there was nothing available from Drummond Island to Munising! Plan ahead and sleep comfortably 😉

Fern painted a fish for the Erickson Center Art on the Lake silent auction fundraiser. I had to keep bidding to buy her fish back…but it looks great on the Inn!

The Black Bear Run 6K/12K is on Saturday July 4, 2026. It includes the following events: Black Bear Run - 6K Run, Black Bear Run - 12K Run, and Black Bear Run - 6K Walk.

This is a great story about Birch Shores Resort near Curtis. This area has so many unique properties, and this is definitely one of them. Jay and Mithril are great people and are keeping small resorts “just like grandpa used to stay at” alive. ❤️

With cozy cabins, a sandy lakeshore, and classic family vacation traditions, this Upper Peninsula resort is the kind of peaceful getaway families return to generation after generation.

The band is in town!! This incredible group of young musicians travels across the country (see the map from their truck) and will be at the Erickson Center for the Arts TONIGHT at 7 pm!! Enjoy the air conditioning, live music suitable for all ages and say hi to the light/sound techs Duane and Nate!
