If you are looking for free things to do when staying at the The Gable House Bed & Breakfast Inn in Durango, Colorado we highly recommend the Durango & Silverton Railroad Train Museum. The Durango Train Museum is one of the best free attractions in town with one of the most diverse collections of history and artifacts you will ever see. The museum is located behind the Durango Train Station and is within walking distance of the Gable House Inn. There’s even a huge model train display that’s a hit with the young and the young at heart.

As we approach Colorado Day on August 1st and a continued celebration of Colorado 150 Southwest throughout the rest of the year, you can enjoy events, exhibits, concerts and more all across Southwestern Colorado including the Gable House Ice Cream Social benefiting the Animas Museum.

Join us for the 5th Annual Gable House Ice Cream Social benefitting Animas Museum and in partnership with Cream Bean Berry on Sunday, July 26 from 1-3 pm at 805 E 5th Avenue in the heart of downtown Durango.

The Ice Cream Social is free to attend. Donations are appreciated and go directly to the Animas Museum. Join us for ice cream, history and fun!
