One of the best things at Blind River Ranch is seeing the white deer. While many people call them “albino deer,” some white deer are actually leucistic.

Leucism is a rare genetic condition that causes a partial loss of pigmentation, resulting in a white or mostly white coat. Unlike albino animals, leucistic deer usually have normal-colored eyes and noses.

No matter what you call them, seeing one in the wild is a special sight and a reminder of how unique nature can be.
