Furnished today as it was in 1900, with contemporary amenities for the comforts of our guests. The unique combination of elegance, wildlife and history offered at Greyfield Inn has been recognized as one of the “World’s Best Places to Stay” in 2011 and the No. 9 “Top Small Hotels in the USA” in 2010 by Condé Nast Traveler. The inn has also received recognition by Coastal Living as one of the “Top

10 Romantic Island Retreats.” Originally built by Thomas and Lucy Carnegie as a gift for their daughter, this southern mansion was converted to an inn retaining a welcoming familial air and a spirit of adventure. The culinary team crafts true southern dishes to be enjoyed by all at breakfast and dinner, and fun picnic-style lunches. Located on Cumberland Island, Georgia’s largest undeveloped and southernmost barrier island, the inn is surrounded by natural wildlife and scenic views, offering guests the opportunity for adventure as well as picturesque privacy. Your reminder that this summer, Greyfield is a little more yours than ever.

Exclusive to overnight guests of the inn, we've introduced two additions designed for slower, more restorative days on the island: a complimentary beach shuttle running three times daily, and chef-prepared picnic dinners for quiet evenings on the sand — packed with linens, a blanket, utensils, and optional wine pairings. Offered now through September 15.

Reach us at (904) 261-6408, [email protected], or the link in our bio to reserve your stay.

We encourage guests to take a short stroll through our garden, where we grow seasonal organic produce using sustainable practices including composting, cover cropping, and crop rotation to replenish and build its soils.
