On their third visit, these lovely guests brought friends along and treated themselves to one of our favorite cottage enhancements—a beautiful, multi-course private dinner prepared by Chef Larry Wilgus.

Fresh flowers, candlelight, wonderful food, and time spent around the table with good friends. It’s exactly the kind of experience we love creating.

The beauty of breaking bread together. ❤️

Last evening was one of those reminders of why Larry and I love what we do at Hobbs & Rose.

Our guests returned for their third visit, this time bringing two dear friends to share the cottage with them. They chose one of our special enhancements — a private, full-course dinner for four, prepared by Chef Larry Wilgus.

Even in late October, we gathered fresh flowers from our gardens for the table. Candles were lit, beautiful food was served, and the evening unfolded around good conversation and friendship.

There is something so powerful about gathering around a table, slowing down, and breaking bread together.

Larry and I are always reminded that hospitality is a gift that goes both ways. We receive so much joy from serving the people who find their way to our little cottage.

Some stories are about beautiful places. Others are about the hearts, the people, and the journeys that give those places meaning. This one is about both. ❤️

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Taryn King, Special Publications Editor for Coastal Point, for the beautiful feature on Hobbs & Rose Cottage in the October 2nd edition of Coastal Home & Garden.

Taryn, thank you for the kindness, compassion, and genuine care you brought to our time together. You didn’t simply interview me about a cottage or the gardens that surround it. You took the time to listen to my heart, to understand the journey, and to recognize that Hobbs & Rose has always been about something much deeper than a beautiful place to stay.

It’s about connection. It’s about creating space for people to feel welcomed, loved, and restored. And it’s about finding purpose and beauty even in the midst of life’s deepest sorrows.

What makes this publication especially meaningful to me is something I don’t believe was a coincidence.

The magazine was released on October 2nd, my beautiful daughter Abigail’s birthday.

Of all the days this story could have been shared, it was shared on hers.

I believe God has a way of reminding us that love doesn’t end, that our stories continue, and that even through unimaginable loss, something beautiful can still grow.

Abigail is woven into the heart of Hobbs & Rose. Her life, her memory, and the love I will forever carry for her are part of the reason I continue creating spaces where people can gather, connect, and simply be.

I honor her. I celebrate her. And I will always speak her name.

Thank you, Taryn, for telling our story with such tenderness and for giving others a glimpse into the heart behind Hobbs & Rose Cottage.
