Join us outdoors for a night of community, worship, and connection! Under the theme “In Every Season,” we’re gathering for live worship, encouraging testimonies, a charcuterie board, and local vendors—and it’s completely free!

We are also partnering with Zoë Ministries to give back. Please consider bringing any of the following donation items to support their mission:

🚨 THE GREAT HOBBS & ROSE ESCAPE 🚨

Meet Dory—short for Delores. 🐓

Photo 1: Dory makes her move—walking the line across the coop roof and tasting freedom.

Photo 2: The fugitive is apprehended after a 14 hour pursuit. She showed absolutely no remorse. 😂

Charges include flying the coop, rooftop trespassing and resisting bedtime.

Dory has been safely returned to custody…but we have a feeling she is already planning her next escape.

It’s not every day that a talented floral designer stays at your cottage, wanders through your gardens, and creates an elegant, natural arrangement for the next guests to enjoy. 🌸

This beautiful centerpiece was lovingly gathered and arranged by the incredibly gifted young woman behind Rachel ✨ Maryland Based Wedding Florist and what a thoughtful surprise it was.

Having her in our presence was truly a gift, and we look forward to welcoming her back to Hobbs & Rose again. 💕🌹

🐾 Around Hobbs & Rose, we think our four-legged guests deserve to be celebrated every day. 🤎

Meet Bellagio, one of our frequent guests at Hobbs & Rose Cottage, looking perfectly at home beneath one of the many arbors tucked throughout the gardens.

One of the things we love most about the cottage is that we are dog-friendly. Because when you escape for a few days to wander the gardens, slow down, sit on the porch, and reconnect with the people you love, sometimes the family member you most want beside you has four paws.

And Bellagio? He seems to understand the assignment perfectly. 🐾🌿

Here’s to all the pups who have wandered our paths, explored the gardens, napped on the porch, and made Hobbs & Rose part of their getaway.

Look who showed up at Hobbs & Rose! 🤎🌿

Meet the Polyphemus moth (Antheraea polyphemus), one of North America’s largest native silk moths—and quite an impressive garden visitor!

A few fun facts about this beauty:

🦋 Its wingspan can reach 4–6 inches.

👀 Those incredible “eyes” on its hindwings aren’t eyes at all. They’re eyespots designed to startle or confuse predators.

🌳 As caterpillars, they feed on the leaves of trees such as oak, maple, willow and birch.

🤯 And perhaps the most fascinating fact—the adult Polyphemus moth doesn’t eat! It has no functional mouthparts. It lives off the energy it stored as a caterpillar, spending its short adult life finding a mate and continuing the next generation.

Their adult life lasts only about a week, which makes getting to see one feel pretty special.

Three acres of gardens continually remind me that there is an entire little world happening around us that we often don’t notice until we slow down long enough to see it.

Okay, vintage lovers and creative minds… I need you! 🤎

You know I can’t resist a good thrift-store treasure—especially when I find something old, beautifully made, and just unusual enough that I have to bring it home. 😂

Today’s find is this beauty.

First question: Who knows what it was originally used for? It’s over 3’ tall and 2’ wide.
Bonus points: How old do you think it is?

But here’s where I really want to have some fun…

I’m not sure I want to use it for its original purpose. I’d love to find a completely unexpected way to repurpose it somewhere at Hobbs & Rose Cottage.

🌿 Hanging herbs or dried flowers?
🧺 Displaying vintage linens?
🌸 Something in the potting shed?
💡 Turn it into some kind of light fixture?
👀 Or something I haven’t even thought of yet?

If this came home with YOU, what would you turn it into?

No idea is too crazy. In fact, the more creative, the better. I have a feeling one of you is going to come up with an idea I absolutely have to steal. 🤎

Some evenings are about more than an event… they’re about finding a place where you belong. ❤️

At Hobbs & Rose Cottage, we have always believed our gardens were meant to be a place where people slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with one another.

That’s why we’re honored to open our property for this special Women’s Garden Gathering hosted by The River Church.

Whether you’ve been attending church for years, you’re simply curious, or you’re just longing for genuine conversation with kind, authentic women, I hope you’ll feel welcome here.

There will be worship, inspiring stories, beautiful gardens, delicious food, local vendors, and so much more—but what I believe you’ll remember most is the feeling of being surrounded by women who simply want to encourage one another through every season of life.
