Recently, during Associate Appreciation Week, our company gathered for our annual Shining Star Reception to honor the remarkable success of associates from our various Marriott, Hilton, and IHG hotel properties as well as our Roy Rogers Restaurants teams. Behind every great guest stay is a team of people giving it their all. At Plamondon Hospitality Partners, our associates are the true foundation of our success and the reason our hotels feel like home across every one of our properties.

That’s why Associate Appreciation Week is one of our favorite times of the year! To thank our team for their incredible dedication, we went with an "All-Star" theme to celebrate our real MVPs––the team members who step up for our guests, support one another, and keep everything running seamlessly.

Throughout the week, our teams took time to unwind and celebrate together. Across our hotels, associates found fun ways to mark the occasion with their teams — from cheering on the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars, to firing up the grill, beating the heat with snow cones, and bringing out their competitive spirit with a friendly game of “BB3” baseball. It was a great week of connection, appreciation, and celebration for our hotel teams.

After a remarkable hospitality career spanning more than 40 years, we are both bittersweet and incredibly proud to announce the retirement of Chuck Chandler.

Chuck first joined the Plamondon Hospitality Partners family in June 2021 as a contracted manager supporting our Altoona dual-hotel Fairfield and TownePlace Suites by Marriott. Recognizing his immense value, we were thrilled to welcome him to the team full-time in December 2021 as the General Manager of the Residence Inn Fulton at Maple Lawn.

During his tenure with us, Chuck’s impact has been profound. An exceptional leader, he led the Residence Inn Fulton to become a four-time Marriott Diamond and Platinum Circle Award-winning property from 2022 to 2025. Chuck’s success has always been defined by a balance of strong financial acumen and a people-first approach. He consistent commitment to exemplary customer service and a culture of rewarding his team drove outstanding guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Beyond the numbers, Chuck is a true champion of people. He has always been highly adept at recruiting, training, and motivating staff to ensure optimal productivity and accountability. His dedication to his profession extends far beyond our doors. For years, Chuck has served on the boards of both the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association and Howard County Tourism, including terms as Chairman for both executive committees. Through these leadership roles, he has contributed to the broader industry and helped shape the next generation of hospitality professionals.

His legacy of excellence was built on a foundation of experience. Prior to joining Plamondon, Chuck spent over two decades in leadership roles across brands including Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, and other Hilton properties.

A decade ago, Emily Gutierrez joined Plamondon Hospitality Partners as a Sales Coordinator supporting our Frederick Marriott properties. Right away, her drive and people-first approach made a real impact, and it wasn't long before she stepped into the role of Sales Manager.

When our portfolio grew to include the Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites Frederick, Emily’s leadership grew right along with it. She quickly demonstrated the business acumen and relational mindset that fuels our organization every day, and was the clear choice to elevate as Director of Sales. Today, she leads with vision, helps guide our teams, and plays an important role in shaping the future of our brands.

Investing in our people is the foundation for our success. We are proud to congratulate 25 dedicated associates, from across six of our Frederick hotel properties, on graduating from our highly tailored workplace ESL program.

We launched this initiative in 2020 in partnership with the Literacy Council of Frederick County to empower associates looking to expand their English reading, writing, and speaking skills. This critical training equips our team members with the confidence needed to deliver the top-tier service we pride ourselves on, enhancing everything from day-to-day team collaboration to direct guest interactions.

By offering robust career pathways, we continue to cultivate high-performing teams that drive operational excellence across our entire portfolio. We recently launched a new cross-discipline training program called “Keys to the City," as a way to give our team members opportunities to learn from each other.

The goal of the program is two-fold: our extended stay hotel leaders got to enhance their financial skills, and it gives our accounting and finance team members more insight into the standards of hospitality that we extend to every guest.
