What a great way to kick off Labor Day weekend. Our Labor Day guests will enjoy this event, located one block away.

We're kicking off our first Sunset Series concert 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 at 5 p.m.! 🌅🎶

The evening's entertainment begins with a live DJ at 5 p.m., and Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band will take the stage at 6 p.m. Beachin' Eats Food Truck and Kona Ice will be on-site for those who wish to purchase food or a sweet treat, and the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber will be on-site selling beverages for all ages to enjoy.

Our team is closely monitoring the weather conditions. If our Sunset Series event is canceled due to inclement weather, we will provide updates via our official social media channels, and a City alert will be issued.

Keeping our West Beach Hangout Guests Informed with new E-bike city ordinances.

City of Gulf Shores has enacted even more restrictive speed limits to protect beachgoers and pedestrians on its infrastructure.
• 10 mph Speed Limit: Gulf Shores passed an ordinance that caps the speed limit on all designated multi-use paths and sidewalks at a strict 10 mph.
• Strict Penalty Structure: Gulf Shores enforces a tier-based fine system for unsafe riding: a $250 fine for the first violation, $400 for a second, and $500 for subsequent offenses. Devices ridden by minors under 18 without helmets may also be impounded with a $50 release fee.

In Orange Beach, the City Council has addressed these challenges by updating local safety ordinances to regulate both resident-owned and rental micromobility devices.
• Speed Limits on Trails: Orange Beach has established a speed limit of 15 mph on sidewalks and multi-modal paths, and 12 mph on the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail.
• Pedestrian Approaching Rules: To protect walkers, riders must reduce their speed to 10 mph or less when approaching within 50 feet of a pedestrian, and they must provide an audible warning before passing from behind.
• Class Restrictions and Power Limits: Devices with motors of 750 watts or higher (including high-powered "e-motos") are legally classified as motor vehicles. They require a state driver's license and insurance to operate and are restricted entirely to public roadways, meaning they are banned from sidewalks, multi-use paths, and the Backcountry Trail.
• Rental Safety Regulations: Rental businesses face stricter rules, including requiring a physical location within city limits or police jurisdiction and carrying $1,000,000 in general liability insurance.
• Youth Safety and Enforcement: Riders under 16 must wear a helmet. Under enforcement frameworks, police officers will target reckless behaviors like failing to yield, excessive speeding, or performing stunts, and will notify or cite parents for juvenile violations rather than impounding devices.

With heat advisory in our area, our chilled private pool provides a refreshing area to cool off. This is one of our popular amenities on those hot summer days.

Same message, different day. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the area for Heat Indices rising into the 108-111 range, with a few localities closer to the coast seeing higher values.

We love this festival because it’s so close to West Beach Hangout. You can easily walk to the festival and enjoy the food, crafts, and entertainment. This is one event that has it all.

Every fall, the beach at Gulf Shores fills up with the smell of fresh shrimp and the sound of a community that has weathered every kind of storm the Gulf can throw at it. 🦐

The National Shrimp Festival has been running since 1971, born out of a small gathering meant to celebrate the local sh*****ng industry and it has grown into one of the biggest events on the Alabama coast, but the heart of it has stayed the same. It is fishermen and their families showing up for each other, year after year, no matter what the last hurricane season looked like.

There is something about a beach town that keeps throwing a party for its own fishing fleet, decade after decade, that says everything about how the Gulf Coast handles hard times. You show up, you cook what the water gave you, and you celebrate it together.

Have you ever been to a Gulf Coast seafood festival, and what is the first thing you look for on the menu?
