Well I got a few chances to talk up the house concert series last weekend at the Great River Folk Festival, and since it turned September it's likely time to send out an infrequent newsletter. I added another 5 songs to the BVC 2026/27 playlist and I'll put the link in the comments and each video in the events. I realize that many of you don't know these artists (well except for Feb); but they are all wonderful and special musicians and humans. Truly I hope you can make it to a few of them.

Last weekend we had a chance to go see Dan Sebranek, Tim Kolek Music, Mary Cortesi and Greg Growkowsky at the Old Main Cultural Center - Galesville, WI It was a great night, and of course I ate way too many Girl Scott cookies. Yes except Greg, these great musicians will be at the Bluff View in Februrary.

Ok I know a high percentage of our house concert series followers are musicians; so here the thing. With only four slots every year I'm saying "Sorry" more than I would like. Here's a chance to make money and another connection. Recently you host as taken on Contemporary Music Coordinator at Holmen Lutheran Church; yes a much sought after volunteer position. Ha. So now here's your chance to get a Bluff View stay over with a Sunday gig. Right, no house concert, but I will host you either Saturday or Sunday (though you might have to watch the Packers) and I'll help you out with setup and song selection at church. The choir area has a keyboard, congas, cajon, and electronic drums, plus a great sound guy (besides me). The service usually contains seven songs, and I could get a keyboardist if you needed it (or we wanted a special hymn that you didn't know.) Of course I have a link of venues I can share with you too if you want to find a Saturday gig nearby. Why am I doing this? You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. I do have one band who has said yes, and another that hasn't said no yet.

Wow, one day out from the season announcement, I've had great feedback from past audience that this year their going to try to make more concerts! That's awesome, I know my audience is strong enough in numbers to have a sold out house each time, but life comes up. So mark the dates and do your best to make it. Your attendance brings joy to the room, and don't we all need more joy in our lives. You can trust my judgement that these artists are some of the best independent (well Kelly Hunt is on a label) musicians around, or you can listen to their music in advance. I put together one song from each, and I was surprised only the The Dangling Participles wasn't recorded by me. Link in the comments below.
