B&B Orchards

B&B Orchards Our farm has been in the family for more than 50 years. Once grass fields, and now hazelnuts! We are the third generation of our family to operate this farm.

B and B Orchards sit in the Willamette Valley among other world ranking hazelnut orchards. We are conveniently located just off I-5, 30 minutes from Portland to the north and 30 minutes from Salem to the south. We have a large farmhouse on the property that you would have to yourself. It comfortably sleeps 8 people. Come and relax on the deck, where you can view the 40-acre hazelnut orchard, a large fir grove in the rolling pasture and the flowerbeds featuring large rhododendrons.

I’ve been excited to try growing garlic for the first time. Individual cloves and several different varieties went into the ground last fall and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how well they’ve done so far.

Looking forward to harvest this summer! 🌱

Let the pasture get a little taller than I planned this spring, but it cleans up pretty nicely once it’s cut. 🌿

Between the flowering landscape, orchard views, and towering fir trees, we love this season for small weddings and intimate gatherings.

Last fall we planted cover crops down each row throughout the orchard. By spring, some cereal rye were over 5 feet.

Now that they’ve been mowed down, all that biomass starts returning back to the soil.

The long-term goal: healthier soil, better structure, more biological activity, less erosion, and a more resilient orchard over time.

A lot happens beneath the surface of a farm.

Our favorite outdoor beer garden, TopWire Hop Project, is just a few miles from the farm and fun for the whole family.

Planting cover crops between the rows of trees in the orchard helps with w**d suppression, water retention, and overall health of the soil. This is our first year planting cereal rye and vetch, and it’s just about ready to be mowed down.
