Rainy days in Jackson mean one thing… the waterfalls are roaring 💧

There’s still snow melting high in the mountains, and right now is one of the best times of year to chase waterfalls in the White Mountains.

Spring in the mountains also brings a different kind of foliage — bright greens, silvery misty mornings, and even subtle reds and pinks tucked into the hillsides that almost remind you of early fall.

Due to this weekend’s weather forecast, the Wildquack Duck Race & Music Festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 5, 2026. Please see the full update below for details regarding tickets, activities, and the new event date. We’re looking forward to a great day in September! 🦆

Due to weather forecasts predicting rain and cold temperatures across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine, we have been closely monitoring conditions for this Sunday. Based on current water temperatures and the forecast for heavy rain, we anticipate that the Wildcat River levels will rise.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment for all participants, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the Wildquack Duck Race & Music Festival to Saturday, September 5th, 2026.

The anticipated conditions would impact the entire event. We cannot allow children or staff in the water to guide or collect ducks, and the rain would prevent us from hosting the parade and individual children's games.

All duck tickets already purchased will automatically roll over to the new date, and all prizes will be available at that time. We will provide further updates as soon as possible.

GM on the property today 🐦 I spotted the cutest little Solitary Sandpiper down by our koi pond this morning — one of those quiet mountain moments that makes this place feel extra special. (He’s tiny, so you might have to look closely 👀)

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend here at Nordic Village Resort ☀️ All of our pools are open, the mountains are finally turning green again, and we’re excited for Jackson's Wildquack Duck Race & Music Festival this weekend 🦆

Counting down the days until Story Land opens for the season 🎢☀️ Memorial Day Weekend is almost here — which means summer adventures, mountain mornings, ice cream runs, and family memories are right around the corner in the White Mountains. 🏔️
One of our favorite signs of summer? Seeing Story Land come back to life just down the road from Nordic Village. ❤️ Who else grew up going to Story Land? 👇

This is the view from our Chateau units this afternoon ⛰️ And a little waterfall I found near the Chateaus after all the rain we’ve had the past few days 💧

Now we’re finally starting to see a little blue sky peek through, and it’s looking like a beautiful weekend ahead in the White Mountains. And yes — the private Chateau pool is officially open for the season ☀️ Hope everyone enjoys the weekend — and we hope to see you soon at Nordic Village ☁️

🎿 GM in the Wild 🎿
One of my favorite things about spring in the White Mountains is that you can still sneak in a few ski runs while everything down below starts coming back to life 🌷
I got over to Black Mountain for a few runs this weekend — sunshine, soft snow, mountain views, and a quick beer break in the sun ☀️🍺

I don’t think I’ve ever had skis and pansies in the same car before… but that pretty much sums up spring in Jackson 🌸🎿

This is such a fun time to visit:
💧 Waterfalls are flowing
🎿 Spring skiing is still happening
🌷 The valleys are waking up
☀️ Longer days and mountain sunsets
