So sad our favorite fish and chip place is closing!
After many unforgettable years serving our community, it is with heavy hearts that South Kona Grindz, Honaunau family-owned and operated restaurant will be closing its doors at the end of June.
What started as a small mom-and-pop shop became something so much bigger because of all of you — our loyal customers, friends, and families who continued to support us year after year. We are beyond grateful for every meal shared, every smile, every conversation, every friendship,and every memory made inside our restaurant.
We’ve been proud to serve the community with the dishes we became known for — our fresh Wahoo fish & chips, fish tacos, juicy burgers, homemade sauces, homemade pineapple chili pepper salsa and local-style comfort food that kept people coming back from near and far.
This decision was not easy, but the time has come for our family to move on to the next chapter in life. We truly cannot thank everyone enough for the love and support over the years.
As we prepare to close, there is also an opportunity for someone new to continue their dream in this location. The restaurant comes with a fully equipped commercial kitchen and setup for anyone interested in starting their own restaurant, bakery, café, commercial kitchen for the community or food business.
