We are a small, family run rafting business located off the beaten path in beautiful Lowell, ID. Surrounded by cedar forests and rivers, we are lucky enough to operate in one of the most pristine places in this country, if not the world. Three Rivers Rafting operates with permits issued by the United States Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management on the Selway, Lochsa, Clearwater, and Salmon

Rivers. We offer a unique experience to all avid rafters and adventurers. At Three Rivers Rafting we believe in preserving our natural resources and educating our guests to help support the wilderness areas and rivers for future generations.

Nathan aka Mad Dawg has a wide range of river experience, from big water Lochsa to sweep boat driving to kayaking. He is thoughtful, prudent, and calculated.
Nathan is a real MacGyver who can fix anything with some duct tape and a piece of leather. Outstanding chef skills yield high quality dishes on overnight trips. His favorite rapid is Killer Fang Falls. When Nathan isn’t on the water, he enjoys camping, crafting, and a good cup of Joe.
We are so lucky to have this KIND GADGETEER on our team. Although you’re on the Middle Fork today and we can’t say luv ya in person we sure do!

Our last Lochsa rafting trip of the season was blessed with true rainforest vibes. We’re very grateful for the rain and cooler temps to ward off wildfire season.
Did you know the Clearwater National Forest, where the Lochsa is located, makes up the southernmost portion of one of the world’s largest inland temperate rainforests? The dramatic elevation changes catch Pacific weather systems, providing the heavy moisture that allows ferns, mosses, and massive old growth cedars to thrive. The low hanging fog you see is actually transpiration from the trees essentially “breathing” and recycling up to 80% of precipitation the forest receives. Thus creating its own weather patterns that drives the local hydrologic cycle. Idaho is truly magnificent 🌲
