After the Caldor Fire devastated the area, a group of volunteers, including our family and friends, joined the Sugar Pine Foundation in reforestation efforts throughout the burn scar. Here are a few pics of growth through the years from plantings along Silverfork Road.

Thank you to the firefighters who saved the main structures on the old Silver Fork Ranch during the Caldor Fire. We are forever grateful to them and all the personnel who worked (and are still working) on the fire. A special thanks to the animal rescuers from Code 3 Associates who rescued the ducks, Nick and Nora, from the pond. It would have been tough to lose those two characters.

We are still assessing the damage to the ranch and the area. A lot of trees and property were lost. The forests along the Mormon Emigrant Trail and Silver Fork Road took a big hit and fire is still smoldering in some spots. A lot of work is being done in the area and it is closed to the general public. We have seen animal activity on the ranch in the meadow and at the pond; deer, foxes, chipmunks, squirrels, and various birds. The meadow and the surviving woods around the ranch are a nice patch of green for those animals. We have our work cut out for us to pull the property back together, but are glad to say that we can do it.
