We begin 24 hour operation until August!!!!!!!

Couple reminders…..

Wristbands and hand stamps….

Are good from time of purchase until midnight….

Example: you purchase at 3pm on Monday, you are good until Midnight Tuesday.

If you come at 9pm, that’s when the passes switch over….. the next days stamps and wristbands are available. Example 9:15pm on Wednesday it is good til 12am Friday…..

Now for the not so fun part to address…..

All pier rules and county ordinances will be upheld and enforced…..

Don’t be that person that we have to call our friends in green to come deal with you…..

They have bigger and more important things to be doing…..

Failure to follow the rules, just like any given time will result in loss of pier privileges and potentially charges being pressed…..

We will not have a repeat of last year, with the property damage, the violence, and all the other illicit behaviors again this year….. PERIOD

If people can’t act right, we can just switch back over to closing at 9 again…..

If you are unfamiliar with the rules, they are posted all over the property…..

This is supposed to be fun……

Let’s keep it that way!!!!!

KITE FESTIVAL: Massive kites shaped like octopuses, sea turtles, pandas and lobsters — some stretching up to 100 feet — will fill the sky over The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island next month when Kitty Hawk Kites brings its annual Fly into Spring Kite Festival back to Fort Walton Beach.

The two-day event, set for April 4-5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., coincides with National Kite Month and features oversized character kites ranging from 30 to 100 feet, professional stunt kite demonstrations set to music and free activities for families.

Kids can try their hand at free kite-making stations, and attendees of all ages can take stunt kite lessons during the festival. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own kites to fly alongside the professionals.

The festival is free and open to the public at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island.

We're launching a new paid parking program, Destin Park & Play, starting Sunday, March 1, 2026. Parking rates will remain the same but will offer a more convenient, modern system to pay.

Destin Park & Play is a mobile-friendly system that allows users to pay quickly by scanning a QR code or texting to start a session. No app download is required, making parking in our Harbor and Beach Districts easier.

Parking rates remain:
$20 for 4 hours in the Beach Parking District
$15 per day in the Harbor Parking District

Free for Destin residents with a Parking decal.

Partnering with LAZ Parking, a nationally recognized leader in municipal parking management, means a modern approach to enhance convenience and improve parking availability.

LAZ technology will also be used to collect boat launch fees at Joe’s Bayou Boat Launch. The launch fee remains $25. This updated system will provide a simple, convenient way to pay on-site while helping the City manage the facility more efficiently.

One of the many perks of being a Destin resident is access to free parking in City-managed areas with a Resident Parking Pass. Our residents (within the corporate limits) are encouraged to pick up their free Resident Parking Pass. Passes are available at City Hall, Destin Community Center or you can register online via our website. You need your Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration by to get your free pass. Limit two passes per Destin household.
