Congratulations to Robert Duffy of Late Start Racing on setting a new 2.0 Kilometer Land Speed Record at 101.473 MPH!

It was an incredible day watching these drivers push themselves and their machines to the limit right here on the historic Loring Air Force Base. Thank you to everyone who came out and to all the racers who made this event one to remember.

There was plenty of horsepower on display today at the former Loring Air Force Base! We had the opportunity to check out the land speed races, and it’s incredible to see the historic runway still being used for something so exciting.

From vintage machines to high-performance builds, it was a great reminder of the history and versatility of this unique place. As a small family owned business located right here on the former base, we’re proud to see events like this bring people together and keep Loring’s legacy alive.

We’re excited to officially introduce the new logo for The Bunker Inn 2!

As our business continues to grow, we wanted a logo that represents who we are—a disabled veteran-owned, family-operated inn surrounded by the beauty of Northern Maine. The mountains, wildlife, and outdoors all represent the experience we hope every guest enjoys during their stay.

This is just the beginning, and we’re looking forward to continuing to welcome travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, military history buffs, and hardworking professionals to The Bunker Inn 2.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. Every stay, every recommendation, every review, and every share has helped us grow.
