Burned out?

Make the Gilded Drifter Inn your quiet place to regroup before or after the playa. Take a hot shower, sleep in a real bed, cook a meal, read a book, and enjoy a little space and silence before getting back on the road.

The Gilded Drifter Inn was built in 1898 and remained in the Rees family until 1951.

By the 1970s, and two owners later, the original front porches were removed. The family then added the front addition to be a Levi’s store and created the space for the lobby, Harte Room, and Wilde Room.

Connected Communities is the best news Loyalton has had in a looooong time. More trail connections will bring more bikepackers, hikers, and outdoor travelers to town—and that’s good news for everyone.

We can’t wait to welcome more guests looking for a comfortable place to stay after a day on the trail, and we’re just as excited about the added support for Loyalton’s restaurants.

Join us on Wednesday, August 12 at 5:30 PM on the Drifter’s Table patio to learn more about this exciting project. We hope to see you there!

We’ve made a few upgrades for guests arriving on two wheels. 🚲

Our new bike parking area is tucked safely out of sight from the road, well-lit at night, and includes an outlet for charging e-bikes.

We’ve welcomed more bikepackers than ever this summer, and we couldn’t be happier. Whether you’re planning a cycling adventure or just happen to roll into Loyalton and decide a hot shower and a four-poster bed sound pretty good, we’d love to have you.

We’re always excited when someone discovers the quiet magic of Loyalton and Sierra Valley.

A heartfelt thank you to ☀️A California Love Story ☀️ and Granite Bay View for featuring the Inn and our little corner of the Lost Sierra. Every new visitor who finds their way here helps support our small-town community and experiences a place that still knows how to slow down.
