Lutsen will soon play host to a whopping 1,800 gravel bike racers for the Lutsen 99er Bike Race. Because the area is hosting so many racers from all over the world, accommodations can be hard to come by if you wait too long!

Currently, Cascade Vacation Rentals has only about a dozen available properties with only two being located in Lutsen!

If you want to stay close to the starting line, check out Minne Me or our newest property, Thimbleberry on Cascade Beach Road in Lutsen and book your stay before someone else does. Guests may also choose to stay in nearby Grand Marais where we currently have just several homes still available.

Introducing Thimbleberry | Your Base Camp for North Shore Adventures

Thimbleberry is a spacious home on the shores of Lake Superior on Cascade Beach Road in Lutsen, Minnesota. Built in 2026, this modern bunk-house style home is the perfect base camp for all of your North Shore adventures!

Thimbleberry features an open layout living area with a luxury kitchen, a dining room, and a living room that's perfect for a family movie night. The main level of the home also features a lake-facing sun porch with a second dining and living area to comfortably accommodate larger groups. A bathroom with a shower/tub combo rounds out the main level of the home.

Upstairs you will find the two bunk rooms and a second bathroom. Each bunk room features two queen over queen built-in bunk beds for a total of four queen beds. Both bedrooms have access to the lake-facing deck, perfect for watching the sunrise over Lake Superior. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room that can be used as an additional sleeping space to accommodate a total of 10 guests.

Thimbleberry sits just steps away from the Lake Superior shoreline where you can enjoy about 150 feet of shoreline in front of the home.

Need More Space? Thimbleberry has a sister home on the same property called Notre Reve. The two homes share a parking area, though each has their own designated spaces. 🌸 Lupine Watch Has Started 🌸

These vibrant blooms line roadsides, trails, and scenic overlooks from Duluth to the Canadian border, creating some of the most photographed views of the season.

While beautiful, many of the lupines you see are a non-native species that has spread throughout the region. Their arrival sparks conversation about balancing appreciation for their beauty with protecting native ecosystems.
