Great BBQ in Maggie Valley!

In the North Carolina mountain town of Maggie Valley, you can head to Pop’s Butts on the Creek for some of the area’s most delicious slow-cooked Southern BBQ served right along a flowing mountain creek. Set inside a rustic log cabin, the spot features a screened-in porch that looks out over the water, where you can sit back and enjoy the sound of the stream while digging into brisket, pulled pork, or blackened catfish. Sides like peppery mac and cheese, fried corn on the cob, and collards cooked with smoked turkey bring classic flavors to the table, and you can try three different house sauces...sweet, mustard, and vinegar...to change things up. The creek beside the restaurant is part of Jonathan Creek, which runs through Maggie Valley and is known for its cold, clear mountain water. Save room for banana pudding or peach cobbler, both made in-house. The easygoing setting, steady sound of the water, and well-loved recipes make this a standout stop in Haywood County.
