From the front hall I heard music. It drew me through the Parlour to the Music Room. There I found Gavin Rice. He said whenever he sees a piano, he can’t help but sit down and play it. See his IG Gavin Rice for more of his many talents.

Sunday we welcomed VA Piedmont Heritage Area for Tea & Tales of the Piedmont. Living history interpreters brought to life the experiences of local women during the Civil War, sharing stories of family, loss, uncertainty, and resilience.

Menu almost entirely from School Hill Garden in Unison:
- Tomatoes with sumac onions, Thai basil and pine nuts
- Beet salad with sheep’s milk feta, walnuts and mint
- Eggplant with anchovies and oregano
- Quinoa with radishes, green onions, lemon zest and castelvetrano olives
- Lemon meatballs with fennel and oregano
- Rosemary focaccia
