Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on us and our community.
Yes, we are safe. ❤️

Right now, our primary focus at Magpie Inn is taking care of the men and women who have left their own communities to come serve ours. We are incredibly grateful to be able to provide them a place of rest between shifts.

As of today, the Ross Fire has burned approximately 85,000 acres and is 26% contained, making it the second-largest wildfire recorded in North Texas.

While parts of Palo Pinto County have been devastated, Mineral Wells is here and still welcoming visitors. Our downtown businesses, restaurants, lodging and the majority of the things people come here to enjoy remain available. One of the best ways you can help is simply to keep coming to Mineral Wells. Eat here. Shop here. Stay here. And support local. Our small businesses and community will need that support in the weeks and months to come.

Above all, please continue praying for our firefighters, first responders, displaced families, ranchers and everyone affected by this devastating fire. ❤️‍🩹 Thank you for your unwavering love and support. While our hearts are heavy, they are also full to be part of a community that is so quick to come together for one another when it matters most.

Like deciding tomato soup tastes just a little better from a teacup. And if you’re going to serve it from a teacup, you might as well pour it from the teapot. 🫖🍅

One of Chef Magen’s favorite things has always been serving up the unexpected, there’s always room for a little whimsy at the table. Your turn...what's for lunch?

A little reminder from the Magpie kitchen: you can always start over. Wipe the plate clean. Try something different. Move things around. Add a little color. And if you don’t love how it turned out? Try again.

Funny how plating works a lot like life. 😉

A few tricks we swear by:
• Odd numbers are your friend
• Leave some empty space. You don’t have to fill every inch of the plate.
• Add height, color + texture.
• Garnish with something that actually belongs with the dish. (please 🤷‍♀️)
• And remember the only person who gets to decide when it’s finished is you!

Now go make something pretty. 🖤🐦
