Oleander Acres is a quiet getaway with 23 lush acres and sweeping vistas of South Texas. Vacationers and full-time RVers alike will appreciate the quiet of the countryside and fun activities. Oleander Acres welcomes you to try a friendly RV community surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty. As you settle into your new home away from home, the numerous activities await you. Oleander Acres is in an ideal location for wildlife viewing and bird watching; 88 species of birds have been listed in the area. Enjoy nightly entertainment, and the recreation room for board games and puzzles or small group gatherings. Every Tuesday is Jam Day for local musicians to showcase their talents in our Rec Hall and before Jam we have serve our Famous Hamburgers & French Fries! There are plenty of organized activities offered every week; Cribbage, Dominoes and Billiards (Pool) are scheduled regularly, as well as Bible Study, outings in the Rio Grande Valley and Special Suppers. Every weekday morning conversation and coffee can be enjoyed or join the daily exercise class.

Vachellia cornigera, also/formerly known as the Bullshorn Acacia. A highly unusual tree that has a symbiotic relationship with Bullet Ants in its Native Range.

The City of Mission would like to remind residents that the Stage 2 Water Conservation Drought Contingency Plan is currently in effect.
Residents are encouraged to review their designated watering days and follow the established irrigation schedule. Watering is permitted only between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on designated days.
The full Drought Contingency Plan and additional information are posted on the main page of the City of Mission website for residents who may have questions or need further clarification.

Meet our Newest Butterfly, the Telea Hairstreak(Chlorostrymon telea), found by our own Candi Welliver. This is the third confirmed species of Green Butterflies for the Month of June. We have had many Clench's Greenstreak and Silver-'banded Hairstreaks this month but a flash of Royal Blue set this special butterfly apart. We have not gotten a verified photo of the 4th species of Green Butterfly seen by Candi, a Tropical Greenstreak.

This Summer has been amazing thus far for Rare Stray Butterflies, now is a great time to visit and stay in our fully furnished rentals. Guided Plant and Butterfly Tours are available on request.
