Jess recently encountered these little cuties on the road by the campground. Poor little ones fell out of a tree!
When you find a baby critter, it's best to leave the youngsters alone in a safe location for mama to come back- unless you know for certain the mother isn't alive. Try not to handle them or handle them as little as possible, because wild animals survive best if they stay wild. Wildlife rehabilitators will tell you the most important rule- Do not feed them!
In this case, Jess shoo-ed them off the road so they wouldn't get hit by a car. After locating the most likely tree nearby where their nest would be, she wrapped the little guys in a thick towel to carry them and set them down tall grass at the base of the tree. Most likely, after the humans left, Mama Raccoon heard their little chirps and carried them back to their home.
