Kentucky Lake Water Levels
Despite drought conditions across the Tennessee Valley, TVA says Kentucky Lake has reached normal summer pool and should remain ready for boating, fishing, and tourism this summer.

TVA officials noted the larger concern is reduced runoff and river flow, not immediate lake access. While anglers may notice reduced current generation at times, most recreational users should still enjoy normal summer activities on the lake. However, low flow conditions often does affect summer ledge fishing for catfish and bass.

Interestingly, longtime anglers may remember that past drought periods in the late 1980s and early 1990s actually led to clearer water and increased aquatic vegetation on Kentucky Lake — conditions that helped create excellent bass fishing for several years.

Kentucky Lake continues to be one of Calloway County’s greatest assets, and we encourage everyone to come enjoy our lakes, parks, marinas, restaurants, and outdoor recreation opportunities this summer. ☀️🎣🚤
