Years ago we began searching for the perfect house to rebirth into a Bed & Breakfast. The home had to be in the wonderful, history rich, charming county of New Kent. A place that offers beautiful golf courses, some of the best wineries in Virginia and natural beauty that has painted the landscape since 1654. Over the years we absorbed the abundance of history, studied the
art of hosting and created a business plan... and recreated...and recreated... You get the idea. When the Vaiden House became available in March of 2017, we knew this was meant to be for us -our dream come true! The house is located in the courthouse district of historic New Kent and conveniently on the same road as all the wineries; not to mention, the home is one of the oldest with the original outbuildings still standing. It has been well worth the wait and we couldn't be more passionate about opening our doors, and piece of history, to everyone. Welcome Guests! ~Jess & Kim
Vaiden House History
The house was built in 1781 by the Vaiden Family of France; first settling Virginia in 1662. The 8+ acre property contains an original detached kitchen, pump-house, and pole barn. Trails throughout the wooded acres take you along historic roads and creeks, just a few miles from, Chestnut Grove, the birthplace of Martha Washington. The Vaiden House sits on one of the oldest road in Virginia; having been used during the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.
