Happy , campers!

This week, we're heading to the Hoosier State’s Land of 101 Lakes. This campground is a lakeside retreat, perfectly positioned off the longest road in the U.S. This is year-round camping at its finest, whether you're here to stay or just passing through.

While KOAs offer a consistent basecamp across North America, the landscapes surrounding them are entirely unique. Take, for instance, our northernmost and southernmost campgrounds.

Up near the Arctic Circle, Fairbanks / Chena River KOA in North Pole, Alaska, sits right along the Chena River. It’s the ultimate basecamp for spotting moose and eagles, exploring the tundra, and witnessing the breathtaking Aurora Borealis.

It's time for , campers!

Combine prehistoric finds with all the benefits of modern camping at this week's KOA. Strategically located near Route 191, this campground is the perfect pit stop for Western road trippers.

The campground's variety of RV sites accommodates everyone, from the van lifers to the motorhome enthusiasts. Choose from pull-thru, back-in, or KOA Patio sites and spend less time setting up and more time relaxing. No RV? No problem. Stay in a ultra-comfy Deluxe Cabin or a classic tent site.

The area is known for its abundance of dino finds. Under 20 miles away is Dinosaur National Monument, where you can see over 1,500 fossils on exposed cliff face. Other state parks in the area provide boating and fishing with views of dinosaur tracks along the way. After you've channeled your inner paleontologist, camp is a welcome respite. Challenge your fellow campers to a game of horseshoes or giant jenga, cool off in the pool, or take in a movie under the stars.

In Loving Memory of Carol Rice

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Carol Rice, who passed away this morning peacefully at the age of 91 with her daughter by her side.

Carol now joins her beloved husband, Terrell Rice Jr, in Heaven. Together, Carol and Terrell were the visionaries and original owners behind Camp Niantic by the Atlantic, building not simply a campground, but a place where generations of families would come together, make memories, and experience the special community they helped create.

Carol’s legacy reaches far beyond the campground she and Terrell envisioned. She was a deeply loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many, and her kindness, warmth, and friendship touched countless lives throughout her 91 years.

For those who knew Carol, her passing marks the loss of a very special woman. For those who have camped with us over the years, her legacy lives on in a place that began with Carol and Terrell’s vision and continues to welcome families and create memories today.

While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for Carol’s long and meaningful life and find comfort knowing she is reunited with Terrell once again.

Rest peacefully, Carol. Your legacy will forever be a part of Niantic KOA formally Camp Niantic by the Atlantic, and you will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Carol’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
