Today, we pause to remember a day that forever changed our nation.
We honor the 2,977 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the countless men and women who answered the call to serve in the years that followed.
We also remember something else about September 11thβthe way America became one.
For a time, differences seemed smaller. Neighbors checked on neighbors. Strangers helped strangers. Churches filled with prayer. American flags flew from homes, businesses, trucks, and front porches across this country.
Twenty-five years later, may we never forget not only the tragedy of that day, but the courage, sacrifice, faith, unity, and love of country that followed it.
Today, we pause to remember.
God bless the families who still carry the loss.
God bless our first responders and military.
And God bless the United States of America. πΊπΈ
