We're 12 miles from Yosemite's South Entrance, so most guests stay a night or two on either side of the park. This is the part where you sit down for a while before the next early start.

A recent MSN piece on a family-friendly Yosemite itinerary named Sierra Sky Ranch one of the writer's favorite hotel picks — and made an argument we happen to agree with: skip staying inside the park, and stay south instead, around Oakhurst.
Here's what's actually here: 30 acres, 28 rooms split between the Ranch House and Guest House, a Great Room with stone fireplaces that's been standing since the 1870s, and a fire pit that gets going most evenings with S'mores kits at the front desk. We're 12 miles from Yosemite's South Entrance — Highway 41 runs straight there.

This past Saturday, our team headed over to the Coarsegold Rodeo grounds for No Bull Rodeo — a full day of heavy equipment operators competing, benefiting The Perspectives Project. We spent the afternoon behind the b**r garden bar pouring drinks and keeping things moving. Good to see the community turn out for a cause like this.
