What A fun filled and amazing Labor Day weekend. On our way to our staycation destination @ my friend David Reseigh Kehena Honey House, my friends Eric, Stephanie plus their two sweet boys and Endino and I, stopped for a $3 movie, went to the drag races in Hilo and then on to the beautiful jungle paradise in Puna. Here is a 2nd version of an overlay for Halemaumau Crater showing the difference from an alternate view point ..

We used several reference points in both photos ( USGS) to match them in view and size as close as possible and then added the grid to make it a bit easier again to compare each section of the photos. Enjoy! ..

A look into the lava tube that formed Thursday on the 61g flow field, and the orange stream of molten rock moving through it. The photographer used a long lens to zoom in, since the fragile tube and its 2,400 degree cargo is roped off.
