Beryl has emerged over the southern Gulf of Mexico. It is still expected to make landfall along the middle Texas coast Sunday night/Monday morning. Continue to stay tuned to the latest forecast and be prepared. http://weather.gov/crp

Hurricane Beryl has made landfall in the Yucatan Peninsula and is expected to move into the Bay of Campeche this evening. There remains uncertainty in the track and intensity forecast after Beryl enters the Gulf of Mexico. Latest track from the Hurricane Center has Beryl approaching the northeast Mexico and Deep South Texas coastlines Sunday evening. It is still too early to determine direct impacts to South Texas, but we do anticipate increasing swells that will lead to a high rip current risk and coastal flooding as soon as Friday night or Saturday morning. There is an increasing chance of heavy rainfall early next week with a marginal to slight risk of excessive rainfall. All interests in S TX should continue to closely monitor the forecast and ensure their preparedness plans are in order.

Stay weather aware 🌀

Hurricane Beryl will move through the Caribbean & into the SW Gulf over the next week.

Uncertainty remains in the forecast after moving into the Gulf. The more favored solution at this time would be for it to make landfall in NE Mexico bringing limited to no impacts for SE Texas, but stay weather-aware through the week for forecast changes.
