Remember those days when you anxiously awaited your teacher handing back the paper that you labored over and spent all your energy into its formation? A recent guest gets an "A+" for this review, the longest one we'd had so far. Here it is:

Our stay at this lovely, tranquil Inn was one we will never forget. The place is surrounded by gorgeous natural scenery, and its aesthetic reminded us of a time when love for God was shown with honor and virtue at the forefront, expressed through hospitality and service to all who stayed in its safe haven. We were welcomed by its hosts, Dan and Jan, with the utmost friendliness and warmth that instantly put us at ease and comfort. Dan quickly helped us with our belongings, and Jan promptly and politely reviewed the guest policies, which were by no means unreasonable.

Our room was so comfortable and pleasingly decorated that we felt we were immediately transported into the guest chambers of George and Martha Washington themselves. The king-sized bed was raised high, with wooden stools on each side to help us settle into a very good night's sleep. It evoked a vicarious nostalgia for a long-ago time. The amenities were second to none, so that we had everything we needed without having to ask. Aside from the 18th-century aesthetic, we had all the modern conveniences we needed (wifi, TV, etc.). The air-jetted bathtub was a welcome, relaxing reprieve, and the rest of the bathroom was large, clean, and had a wonderful view of Port Angeles Harbor.

Jan was an extraordinary cook and baker! One could tell she takes great pride in what she makes and serves to her guests. The food was wonderful, and the view out the large windows while eating was superb. Both Dan and Jan were always willing to answer texts with restaurant recommendations and were always pleasantly responsive. I feel that had I knocked on their door at one in the morning, they would have responded with a servant's heart, like we were beloved family rather than obnoxious guests.

Overall, the place is worth the money spent, and we will be going back whenever we are in the Port Angeles area again. Thank you again, Dan and Jan, for a wonderful experience!

Its combination of architecture, historical identity, oceanfront acreage, lavender landscape, mountain views, and intimate hospitality is unmatched by the city’s conventional hotels." ChatGPT

Three Alaska cruise ships passed by this evening, namely the Anthem of the Seas, Norwegian Joy and the Poesia. What a lovely evening to sit and enjoy the sun fall below the calm seas as these graceful ships head up the strait.

Guests are now using ChatGpt as their travel agent! We recently had guests tell us that they asked AI to do their travel planning for them and that's how they found us.

Question:
What is the best inn or hotel to stay at on the Olympic Peninsula for rest and relaxation?

ChatGpt's response:
For pure rest and relaxation, my best overall choice is the George Washington Inn between Port Angeles and Sequim.

It stands apart because it combines:

-Exceptional privacy—only five guest rooms on a ten-acre estate
-Panoramic views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Olympic Mountains
-Quiet oceanfront grounds and a lavender farm
-Spacious, refined rooms, some with fireplaces and two-person spa tubs
-Convenient access to Olympic National Park without the crowds found at major park lodges
-Consistently outstanding guest satisfaction—currently about 4.9 out of 5 from more than 430 Tripadvisor reviews

Following its extensive restoration and 2026 reopening, Travel + Leisure highlighted the inn’s refreshed interiors, waterfront setting, and unusual Mount Vernon architecture. Independent hotel reviewers describe it as particularly well suited to romantic escapes and simply unwinding. (Travel + Leisure, The Hotel Guru)

A friend got permission to metal detect on the inn’s grounds and found some hidden treasure where the colonial encampment for the NW Colonial Festival was once set up. We are placing these finds in the curio cabinet.
