Check out this far-out find that was hanging in the cabin when we bought it — a hand-painted saw blade from what we guess is the 1970s (signed by “Louise Dunford” ✍️). Back in the day, painting on saw blades was all the rage with hobby artists, and we can totally dig it. It’s like rustic wall art with an edge. (Literally.)

Painted on an actual saw blade, this cozy autumn barn scene brings all the Americana nostalgia—like something you’d spot hanging in your super cool uncle’s cabin during a wood-paneled Thanksgiving. 🍁🛶

We love that it stayed with the place all these years. Because here at ✨Hideaway Heydays✨, we’re all about honoring the groovy good stuff that came before. ✌️

Meet Fish. 🐟

Not quite ours, not quite a stray—just a pretty little gray with a knack for charm … and a love for the lake life.

❤️😺 Known and loved by many of our guests as "The Neighborhood Kitty," my kids named her “Fish” the last time we were there soaking up the vibes. She’s become a bit of a local legend at ✨Hideaway Heydays✨, making the rounds from cabin to cabin like a she’s running for Mayor or somethin’. 🇺🇸

Whether she’s sunbathing on the picnic table, greeting new guests with a soft meow, or just popping by to say “Hey man, got any snacks,” Fish is always where the vibe is good. ☀️🌸☮️

Guests adore her. Kids want to adopt her. And we… well, we just consider her part of the groovy gang. 😎❤️
