Little Shell update: the hot tub has been filled and the pool is being filled today!
There was a plumbing leak at the main pool, but it has been fixed.
Dave is going to start planning for inspections asap.
The elevators for #1-4 are close to being ready for inspection and #8 is being worked on currently. Selfishly, I hope they get #9-12 done before June!

The pool and spa have been resurfaced and filled this past week! The spa is hooked up and running and the main pool should be put into operation this week. When everything passes final inspection the main pool and spa will be open! Little Shell pool and spa should be completed soon as well. Elevators are being worked on-buildings 1-4 and 8 so far, but I don’t think any are operational yet.

FRIDAY DEADLINE

LESS THAN FOUR DAYS REMAINING TO VOTE IN SIBC BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTION - PLEASE VOTE BY FRIDAY 12/5/25 AT 5:00PM EST



Currently, there are four whole owners and three timeshare owners on the Board. With 12 whole owners representing some 612 votes and 1332 timeshare owners representing 2187 votes, we do not think our Board should be dominated by whole owners who own 21% of the property (12 of 56 condominium units). Further, at present, a whole owner dominated Board is making decisions on a budget which is 88.6% funded by the timeshare owners. This is already out of balance, and we are concerned this imbalance could be increased in this election.



We strongly urge timeshare owners to vote and to exclusively vote for timeshare owner candidates that are qualified, will be mindful of timeshare owner interests, and represent the financial interest of the entire resort as individual actions are considered by the Board.



We believe that Celia Knowles, Dave Lumbert, and Frank Catanese are exceptional candidates, all with current or prior SIBC Board experience and all of whom made major contributions to the reconstruction of Shell Island Beach Club. We also believe that Pat White Orsoe is an excellent candidate, with many years of experience with a major energy company, over 40 years of ownership at SIBC, and many ideas to improve our resort.



Please consider voting for these timeshare candidates who will focus on the best interests of the entire resort.

There is Safety in Numbers
Time Share Owners Need to Vote as Block, as the Whole Owners have done for years!

The time share owners group had a very productive & well run zoom meeting on Sunday, November 30th. After careful consideration, the end result is that the following candidates were endorsed by the time share owners group:

Dave Lumbert
Celia Knowles
Frank Cantonese
Patricia White Orsoe

If we time share owners vote as a block for these 4 candidates, (not dilute our vote over 7 candidates) and all 4 win election, the BOD will consist of 5 time share owners and 2 whole owners, which is the correct proportion, considering percentage of ownership interests.

It was felt that these four best meet the current needs of the BOD. All 3 of the other time share candidates were excellent candidates and hopefully they will get involved on committees to help SIBC go through the final stages of reconstruction.

SIBC TIME SHARE OWNERS

Our resort is once again facing a crisis, unfortunately similar to the one we experienced in 2009-2011. Recent proposals by some whole owners could make it possible for the whole owners, who only own 21% of the resort, to take control of it, which would be catastrophic for time share owners, who own 79%of the resort. Unfortunately the interests of these two groups are not the same. In 2009 we had to organize (via a website called NING) a group of time share owners to stop changes to the bi-laws and protect our interests.

A group of Time Share Owners is organizing so we can communicate directly. With elections coming up this is extremely important. Please look below for a link to a form you can fill out so you can be contacted and can communicate with other time share owners. We are not able to obtain a list of owner contact information so we have to rely on voluntary participation. We need to contact a large number of owners very quickly in order to overcome each individual whole owner’s 51 votes.

Please share this information/link with all SIBC time share owners that you know-ASAP!

The new lighthouse Cafe is beautiful! It’s airy and spacious, yet cozy and beachy at the same time! They were so nice and appreciative that customers came back when I was there in early November! I love it even more than the old one!
