Thank You Seward Electric Department!!!

Today, the City of Seward Electric Department had the pleasure of hosting a group of U.S. Air National Guard Airmen from Connecticut for a behind-the-scenes tour of both the Fort Raymond Power Plant and the Mt. Marathon Hydroelectric Facility.

These Airmen serve as power plant operators and electricians within their Civil Engineering Squadrons and are currently supporting a project at the Seward Military Resort. During their visit, our Operator Mechanics shared information about Seward's unique electric system, including our diesel generation capabilities at Fort Raymond and the ongoing efforts to restore and modernize the Mt. Marathon Hydro Plant.

It was a great opportunity to exchange knowledge, discuss the challenges and rewards of operating utility infrastructure in Alaska, and showcase the dedication of the men and women who keep the lights on in our community.

We appreciate their service to our country and thank them for taking the time to visit with our team. Best of luck as they continue their work in Seward!
