On May 1st, CTR experienced a devastating fire. The building that was our Chapel for 22 years and our kitchen, Snak Shak, dinning area, game area, video, sound booth, and a ton of storage for 23 years burned completely. At 9PM on the evening of May 1st, I had just finished the wedding rehearsal for Evan and Olivia in Neodesha, KS when I received a call from one of my neighbors who asked if we were burning over at the camp. I told him, no, we were all gone and no one was on campus. He jumped in his car and drove over to the camp ground and immediately saw that “The Hall” was on fire. Thankfully, he called 911 and the fire department was able to get the fire put out. This saved The Lodge building, but The Hall was gone. As you can imagine this has been a very emotional time for us as we have 24 years of memories in that building where literally thousands of young people received Christ, thousands felt the presence of God and were encouraged in their faith as well as hundreds felt God’s call into ministry. We thank God for every precious memory, for not even fire can take those from us. We are already making plans to build a new “Hall” that will be even better than the old one. Please forgive us for not posting something sooner, but we have been working night and day to clean up the mess and find a way to have camp this summer! We are trusting God to sustain us and we are totally focussed on ministering to every student who attends camp this summer. We humbly ask that you would keep CTR and our staff in your prayers as we doing all that we can to provide an awesome and life changing camp experience for every student who arrives at Camp Table Rock this summer. Thank you to all who have reached out with your love and encouragement, it has meant the world to us!
