From a Boca Raton fellowship in 1996 to shaping conferences for three decades — meet Dr. Christopher Comstock!

Dr. Comstock is a Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York. Early in his career, a case-based conference he attended during his 1996 fellowship left a lasting impression — one that later shaped how he built the UCSD "Mammo in Maui" conferences and the MSKCC MRI course, and one that still influences how he teaches at Mammography in Santa Fe today.

What excites him most about this program? The hands-on workstation experience — over 500 cases across tomosynthesis (with AI), CEM, breast MR, and ABUS. As a longtime advocate for active learning, Dr. Comstock says it's exactly this kind of immersive format that keeps him energized as both teacher and faculty member.

As we celebrate MiSF's 30th year, we're so grateful to faculty like Dr. Comstock, who will help carry this program into its next chapter as incoming lead Co-Director.

30 years. One flagship course. Countless careers shaped along the way.

We're just days away from the 30th Annual Mammography in Santa Fe Conference, August 3–7 at La Fonda on the Plaza — and this milestone year is shaping up to be the biggest yet! Attendees will interpret 300 tomosynthesis cases with AI integration, 100 breast MR cases, and 100 contrast-enhanced mammography cases at the workstation, alongside hands-on technique workshops and expert-led didactic sessions.

This year is extra special — we're celebrating Dr. Michael N. Linver's final year as Course Director, and three decades of leadership that have shaped breast imaging practice for a generation of radiologists.

30 years ago, one radiologist decided CME didn't have to be boring. He was right.

As we head into the 30th Annual Mammography in Santa Fe Conference, we want to take a moment to celebrate the person who started it all: Dr. Michael Linver.

Dr. Linver founded Mammography in Santa Fe back in 1996 and has directed it every year since — 30 years running. Along the way, he's given more than 1,700 lectures in 600 venues across the U.S. and 25 countries. In 2021, he became the first private-practice physician ever to receive the Society of Breast Imaging Gold Medal.

And if you've ever sat in one of his sessions, you know he brings real expertise, and at times a little musical wit thrown in — because serious education doesn't have to be dry.

This will be Dr. Linver's final year directing the conference, but MiSF is in wonderful hands moving forward with Co-Director Dr. Christopher Comstock and our full faculty carrying it into its next chapter.
