We had lots of fun in Manhattan on 5th Ave with the camels. They were rockstars and weren’t bothered by the sights, sounds or mass of people. From a personal perspective, how many people can say they’ve walked a camel on 5th Ave past all the iconic buildings synonymous with our country’s most famous city.

We did something we’ve never done before: we ran our very first distillation batch EVER here at Lavender Waves Farm!
Watching those first drops of “Phenomenal” lavender essential oil separate in the glass was an incredibly emotional and rewarding moment. The top layer you see bubbling is pure, liquid gold—our own concentrated essential oil. The bottom layer is the fresh, aromatic hydrosol (floral water). We are already bursting with ideas for the lovely, farm-made products we’re going to create for you using this beautiful hydrosol! 🌾💧
This milestone means one thing: the countdown to peak bloom is officially on. The fields are waking up beautifully, and we are tracking right on time for a spectacular season.

We are beyond excited to finally reveal our new custom distillation equipment! We’ve kept this completely under wraps, but we couldn’t hide this giant beauty any longer.
By bringing distillation directly to the farm, we’ll be capturing the absolute peak essence of our lavender the exact moment it’s harvested. No middleman, no outsourcing—just pure, hyper-local magic.

Hiring for the season. Need a variety help this year with general farmwork including maintaining lavender, planting new lavender, harvesting lavender, bundling and distilling lavender (new this year), & some animal work. Also need help on Saturdays and Sundays during peak bloom when we’re open to the public. Also will need an events crew for different types of events held on the farm.
General farmhand work: $15/hr
Events crew: $17/hr must be able to help carry/setup heavy tables. Events are mainly after hours and weekends. Tips are sometimes given by clients. Volunteers are always welcomed too.

Meet Giulia, 1 yr old Maremma Sheepdog playing in the snow with Lilly, 1 yr old Pyrenean Mastiff. They’re double coated Livestock Guardian Dogs that love winter! We recently acquired Giulia from an 80 acre farm in CT. They’re working farm dogs that thrive having a farm job and LOVE cold weather! Watch them eating the snow and frolicking on uncleared snow. Of course our camels won’t miss a minute of the fun winter games.
