It's always been a rollercoaster here - but this last year was the zero gravity death spiral that goes right into a 100ft drop.
Mom and I have been tested more personally and professionally over the last year than ever before.
There's really no way to sugar coat it - it's been hard, and largely felt impossible.
However, we've made it to another anniversary, and the one feeling we always have is gratitude.
No matter if we're out front doing face time with our many amazing supporters, grinding in the kitchen behind the scenes, or breaking back on the property - we feel grateful.
They say your life is measured by your fruits - and our tree feels like it's bending at the base with the weight of our blessings.
Our family is thriving as the next generation grows into feral Caswell wildlings, Grandi is finally joining us full time in Alaska now, and we've been able to be involved in the community in our personal lives more than ever before.
These are the things we are proudest of - and the biggest blessings that get us through the tough times.
The other major motivation we have is the amazing community around us, and the humbling support we are shown from near and far.
We can NEVER thank you all enough.
So instead - we'll just keep working, so we can show you our appreciation through great food, and a welcoming atmosphere to anyone who steps into the glow of the lodge.
YOU all, collectively, make the community here at the lodge - the best community in the world. Wether you follow us from afar and leave encouraging comments, or actually live close enough to walk in our doors - YOU keep us going.
And we love you all so much. ❤️
